Strawry hearing aid ^^
Friday, November 21, 2008 The next update is the a machine that I have designed with my group members, Adeline and Gekshan. The device enhance the sense of hearing and touching but reduces the sense of sight and lost the sense of touch. We named it '' Strawry hearing aid '' as our main material for our device is straws. We used lots of straws and stick them all together and its being 'frame' up within the wooden sticks. The straws reduce the sense of sight but it enhance the sense of hearing and touching. When you knock onto things you can hear sounds as there's a string attached to the straws which goes right up up to the ear and by letting the straws hitting the surroundings, it acts as feelers which hence enhance the sense of touch. Difficulties that me and my group members have met are, there are too many straws to cut and by framing the straws within the frame was not as easy as you think. As huge bunch of straws are attached together it becomes heavier hence kept falling out. We cannot solve the problem hence, before the crit, we then placed the straws into the frame. |
